808s and Heartbreak

Kanye West has leaked yet another single off of his 808s & Heartbreak album. "Coldest Winter" is the second single to hit the net in as many days and marks a continuation of Kanye's now famous love affair with AutoTune.

"Coldest Winter," written about the loss of his mother last year, features Kanye belting out heartfelt lyrics over some pretty dirty tribal beats. The track is closer to "Love Lockdown" than it is to his previous albums but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Kanye himself classified 808s as "pop music," not rap so I don't know why everyone is hating on the new singles for not being harder.

At a time when hip-hop seems to be getting a little stale--is it just me or does every song feature Akon/T-pain and a remix with Weezy--808s and Heartbreak could be a much needed breath of fresh air.
